XENOPIXEL: Updating the firmware (updated 4-19-22)

Updated: May 15, 2022

1. Remove the chassis from your saber. If you're not sure how to remove the chassis click here to view the article showing you how

2. Carefully remove the battery by lightly tapping the end of the chassis against your hand or a hard surface. See video below for a demonstration:

3. Locate the micro SD card in the chassis. Be sure to note the orientation so you reinstall it correctly

4. Carefully remove the micro SD card. Use your fingers or tweezers. Do not force the card upward or downward, as this could damage the connector

5. Insert the micro SD card into the card reader that came with your saber

6. Plug it into your computer

7. Click here to download the firmware and updated sounds (installing is a 2 step process).

8. Open the micro SD card on your computer

9. Open the folder called "set"

10. Drop the "update.bin" file you downloaded into that folder

11. Once the "update.bin" file in in the "set" folder safely eject the micro SD card from your computer

12. Put the SD card back into the chassis and install the battery, do not turn the saber on

13. The saber will say updating and will let you know once the update is complete. This should only take a few seconds

14. Now remove the battery, then sd card and place the sd card in the computer.

15. Extract all files in the zip file named "20220419XENO.zip" into the sd card root. It will ask to replace 3 folders, say yes to all.

16. Remove the sd card and place back in the saber, then the battery.

17. Once updated you can turn the saber on.
